To support PayPoint by leading the monthly management accounts process, analysing the results, meeting various stakeholders across the business and to really understand the drivers of PayPoint’s revenue & costs. Using this understanding of the business support in many ways from forecasting cost lines, working with external stakeholders to ensure we stay compliant (auditors, HMRC) and identifying improvements in the ways of working within finance to improve efficiency and to support the wider business.
To be accountable for the monthly management accounts for UK and Ireland entities.
Analyse and interpret the monthly management accounts, ensuring a full understanding of the plan/forecast to provide an analysis of the underlying trends in the business, providing clear opportunities and risks analysis to influence the wider business.
Pro-actively manage monthly cost review meetings and ad hoc projects with senior operational stakeholders (commercial director, marketing director, operations director). The objective of the meeting is to provide appropriate reporting and analysis, to understand the spend movements, challenge spend and identify added-value opportunities.
To assist the planning team with the quarterly budgeting and forecasting process for their areas of responsibility with the business as above.
Challenge the current ways of working ensuring processes are streamlined where possible, systems are used to the best of their capability and identify improvements to support the wider business.
Produce and maintain the monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations for the UK entities. Where the accounts assistant produces balance sheet reconciliations, ensure these are reviewed and any appropriate action is taken.
Oversee the accounts assistant on capital expenditure accounting ensuring the process is robust and fit for purpose.
Produce annual statutory accounts for the UK entities.
Assist with the Annual and Interim Audit, liaising with our auditors and resolving queries.
To prepare the annual Corporation Tax computations for the UK entities.
Manage the accounts assistant, providing coaching and development to ensure they can progress to more senior positions in finance and provide business support.
Other ad hoc projects as and when required assisting finance and other departments.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Qualified Accountant with a recognised qualification - ACA, ACCA, CIMA.
Advanced working knowledge of MS Excel especially in the use of spreadsheets.
Experience of presenting data in a clear and precise manner to both financial and non-financial employees; Desirable - Knowledge of Sage 300 ERP or another computerised accounting system
