|What will you be doing
We are passionate about the technologies we use and build at PayPoint. That’s why in this role you will be a specialist of operating systems, devices, applications and software. You can use all your knowledge and know how in providing technical support to teams within the organisation and to external clients.
You will have the opportunity to assist with system integrations and manage a ticketing query system to ensure queries are kept up to date. This will also involve identifying and resolving technical issues across the business.
To make sure services run smoothly across the organisation at all times, you will act as a support function outside of working hours from time to time and work closely with our Service Management teams to ensure we are doing the best we can to support internal and external customers.
Key points of the role
Respond to incidents raised by the IT Operations team.
Investigate and prioritise requests for support raised by other teams and investigate root causes of incidents.
Monitor progress of requests for support and ensure users and other interested parties are kept informed.
Document and implement work rounds and revised procedures for both Application Support and Operations teams.
Update our technical documentation and procedures to ensure we are doing the rights things and the right time.
Ensure all investigations and work undertaken is logged in a timely and comprehensive manner.
Identify opportunities for more effective use of resource across the operations, 2nd Line and 3rd line support teams through co-operation, knowledge sharing, optimum allocation of tasks.
What we would like from you
Exposure to the following -
Windows based 24/7 environment including 1st/2nd line support
Writing and using transact-SQL queries
A logical approach to problem solving
It would be great if you have the following
Knowledge of financial system ideally involving payment processing
IIS Server knowledge
Knowledge of the principles of the ITIL (the IT Infrastructure Library) for service management
A recognised IT qualification
Good to know
Flexibility with working outside of core business hours at short notice
