Finance Systems Analyst

MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE

To manage the administration and maintenance of our Finance systems, working with the Finance department to ensure their systems are robust and reliable.
To initiate and manage via IT Development team or 3rd party supplier changes that ensure the systems hardware and software is kept up to date with patches or upgrades and is fully supported and stable.
This is a new role and will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to create and set up the processes needed to manage these activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the support and maintenance of an agreed list of third party finance specific systems, including ERP, planning and banking systems.  Below are the key activities to be performed:
  • Maintaining system security, access rights and user permissions in line with the approved delegated authority
  • Performing approved routine or adhoc administration tasks including system setup and configuration changes
  • Provide support for end users, answering queries and troubleshooting system, hardware or integration issues
  • Support users with system reporting or template modification
  • Escalation of issues to internal or 3rd party IT support teams as required
  • Ensure Finance Systems are kept up to date with patches, upgrades and hardware improvements including planning, scheduling, testing and supporting related IT teams implementing the changes
  • Primary point of contact for 3rd party suppliers of Finance Systems regarding ongoing maintenance and support including budgeting for these services
 
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
 
Essential:
  • A part qualified, qualified by experience or fully qualified accountant
  • Experience of managing the administration of Finance Systems
  • Proven track record of working with Finance and IT functions and 3rd party suppliers
  • Very strong IT skills and Excel knowledge
 
Desirable:
  • Microsoft Navigator or TM1 experience
  • Payments/BACS experience
  • VBA/SQL experience
  • Experience of working in a volume transaction processing environment

  • Strong and effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
