Main Purpose of Role
To work as part of the telesales/lead generation team to support PayPoint’s overall sales objectives. Depending on the business priorities at any given time, this will involve prospecting and building a pipeline of qualified retailer leads to help the Field Sales team to reach their targets, or negotiating and closing sales directly with retailers. You will be required to use commercial awareness in order to generate and screen commercially viable leads for direct conversion or passing to the Field Sales team to convert. In order to do this effectively you will need to gain a detailed understanding of PayPoint’s products and services, build rapport with relevant teams within the business, and build strong knowledge of the convenience and retail sector.   
Principal Responsibilities
  • Engaging with both current and new retailers and building rapport quickly
  • Identify opportunities and then, by understanding the products and services that we offer, pitch and secure either an appointment for Field Sales to visit or solely complete the sales process by signing contracts over the phone
  • Achieve targets and KPI’s
  • Manage data ensuring information is accurate and up to date
  • Work with immediate team members as well as the Field Sales team to develop and grow the sales pipeline to consistently meet sales goals
  • Follow-up leads passed to Field Sales team as necessary
  • Build relationships with other teams to ensure a complete understanding of the company
Requirements:
  • Not afraid to pick up the phone and have an excellent telephone manner
  • Gain customer commitment to close sales or secure a field visit
